    This is so sad =(
I remember when I first stepped foot on campus last Fall I was like, "I can't wait until the school year is over so I can go home." But now that the school year is over I am starting to regret saying those words. Don't get me wrong, I love all of my friends back at Niskayuna, but I do not feel I know them nearly as well as the people here at RIT (maybe it's because I haven't lived in the same building with the nisky crew for 33 weeks). Also, leaving home was completely different from leaving college cause I knew that I was going to see all my friends again once I got back home. The thing is college, you don't know who will be back next year and who won't be. For example, a friend of mine left yesterday and I did not even get a chance to say goodbye to him in person, and I never will because he will be transferring to Binghamton.

    Time for a real update
Alright, I think this is my first real entry this  semester quarter.

The whole issue with me and guy down the hall ended a while ago with my friends and I getting left off with a minor warning. Even though the warning doesn't really mean anything, I was still a little ticked off cause if I ever do get accused of doing something again, they'll check my records and there will be a note in there about this. But I'll just suck it this up and work with what I have if anything else happens.

    This quarter I'm taking:

    Writing Seminar
    Freshman Seminar
    Project Based Calculus 3
    University Physics I
    Computer Science 2

At first, I thought this quarter would be easier then the last because I have considerably less readings to do, but I couldn't have been more wrong. My physics professor decided that he would make us do these things called "webassigns" three times a week along with a traditional assignment. The webassigns are basically online questions that you need to be answered and the traditionals are blue worksheets with several problems on them. Doesn't sound that bad right? Well it is if the stuff your assignments are on haven't been covered during the lectures.

I had the perfect schedule laid out for next quarter. I would never have to get up before 10, classes would be over by 6, and I would have a 2 hour lunch break everyday from 12 - 2. Unfortunately, when I went to submit my class requests, all but two of them were closed. So I spent the next two hours creating a new one, which sucks compared to my original plans cause I have 8 AMs... But on the brightside, I got into my ultimate frisbee gym class!!!

I can't even remember the last time I updated
So today in Writing Seminar, my professor was stressing to us how we should not trust everything spell check tells us. For example, here is a poem that he made us read: (read it out loud)

    Spell Checker

    Eye halve a spelling chequer
It came with my pea sea
It plainly marques four my revue
Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.

Eye strike a key and type a word
And weight four it two say
Weather eye am wrong oar write
It shows me strait a weigh.

As soon as a mist ache is maid
It nose bee fore too long
And eye can put the error rite
    Its rare lea ever wrong

Eye have run this poem threw it
I am shore your pleased two no
Its letter perfect awl the weigh
    My chequer tolled me sew
    -James Knisley

So eye had a good laugh with that one. Know pun intended.

    college life
Ever since I've arrived at college, my sleeping habits have gone from bad to worse.

At RIT, we have this thing that we like to call "the hub". Its basically this really big database where you can download shared stuff from other computers around campus. If you pit together the fact that everyone needs to share at least 10ish gigs with the fact that a ton of people use "the hub", you get a database that has pretty much anything you can possibly want. The stuff that I've been downloading are the TV shows that I use to love to watch when I was back at Nisky (aka Smallville and The Office) .

Earlier today I went to Walmart with a few people down the hall to restock on junk food and liquids. I also wanted to buy that new Dawn of War game, but it wasn't there!!! I was sooooo mad.... and pissed.... but more pissed then mad.

Project Based Calculus is a coarse where we get four hours of instruction a week and two hours of lab time, where we do a work sheet together in a  small group of 4 people. There's nothing really to interesting about that except there is this one guy that looks a lot like Conlon. Hes got the mustache, curly hair, everything!!! Every time I see him I always need to fight back a smile; the ironic part is, hes in my lab group.

In about three weeks, I get to go back home!!! Can't wait to see everyone again.

Oh and for my old High School lunch buddies:

the calculator is just there to give you an idea of the amount of napkins

Why do people wash bath towels? The only time you use it is after you've finished your bath right?

So the hardest part about college so far (In my opinion) is staying awake during the classes.

Back in the high school days, people would always say that college professors don't know how to teach. Well they're about an eighth right; most of my professors seem to know what they're doing except for my psych teacher, who is a researcher at the University of Rochester. He's the type of person that speaks in a monotonematic voice and say "um" every 5 seconds. Kind of makes me want to leave class to buy a candy bar.

Remember that moderately short list of clubs in my last entry? I actually decided that I'm not going to do most of them. Frisbee practice is scheduled at the same time as several of my classes. The soccer people here are insanely good. Building a race car club? not happening. Religion club... lol. Ping pong club, I missed the first meeting because I was busy loafing around campus.

Its not even 9 yet, so lets see what type of damage I can cause before bed time.

Tommorrow = first day of classes =(

Today was the first day all week where I did not have to wake up early to go to some random orientation crap so I slept in until 10:30.  The college club fair was today so I spent some time running around there joining clubs. As of now i am appart of RIT's soccer, ultimate frisbee, kendo, mini baha, and table tennis clubs. Oh yeah, i also joined a club called BASIC; its a group of religious people (The funny thing is, I'm atheist). Yesterday we had a carnival day in the field house. It was filled with random bull shit carnival games but they redeemed themselves with their sumo wrestling, giant q-tip fighting, and inflatable boxing ring equiped with giant boxing gloves.

    college
Hadn't made a real update in a looooooooooong time.

    Day 1
my family and I got to the campus at 8:00 AM and moved all of the stuff into my room.

So thats my room. The desk on the left, the dresser, the top bunk, the frigs, and the 3rd picture is my stuff; the rest in my roommates. From 10 - 12, there were two comedians that put on a two hour show. The rest of the day was spent going to orientation presentations and floor meetings.

    Day 2

Woke up at 7:30, showered, met up with my family, and went to the convocation for new students and family. Then I went to the KGCOE (Kate Gleason's College of Engineering) Dean's Meeting. I met my OA (orientation officer) and got to know a few people that didn't live on my floor. That night, there was a hypnotist that took roughly 20 people from the crowd, hypnotized them, and made them do ridiculous things such as, thinking they were the best dancers in the world. After wards, my floor watched the movie "Road Trip."

    Day 3
Met with my OA/group and did a couple a icebreaker activities. Then they went to play dodge ball while i snoke away to play ultimate frisbee =). I was all good until accidentally headbutted me in the ribs. If anyone knows what a broken/fractured/bruised rib feels like, don't hesitate to tell me. My entire floor went to dinner together at 6:00 to get to know each other a little better. Then that night, the sophomores in my building moved in and me and two other people watch "V for Vendetta" with one of them.

    Day 4 (today!!!)
Met with my OA again we did another icebreaker (This one was the stupidest activity I have every heard of).  He opened a bag of starbursts, threw them on the ground, and told us to pick one of them up. Then he made use to describe ourselves with adjectives. The catch was, the first letter of the adjective has to spell out the flavor of the starburst that we picked up... For example, I took a lemon one and I said:

I am Lazy, Energetic, Mean, Obnoxious, and Nice.

Finally, I went and played ultimate again but this time, the guys there were about 100000000000000000000000 times better then the guys I played with last night =0.

    Time for another a guide.

Mike Chow's James Tang's Guide for Preparing for college:

    Deluxe Magic Set:

Going to college will be a new experience, you'll have to establish a new network of friends (unless you magically know someone who lives on the dorm floor above you). Knowing how to perform magic tricks is one of the most important life skills. You want to put on a show. You want to be able to pull a rabbit out of a hat. You want to be able to make your roommate disappear in a coffin. You want to be able to hold your breath for 10 minutes underwater during your swim test. That is surely one of the best conversation starters. And conversations lead to talking, which leads to friendship.

    TV:

Why does OPEC have leverage? Because it controls lots of oil. And people like oil. How can you have lots of leverage? Well, yes, owning lots of oil. But also having a TV gives you leverage. People flock to a TV like a homeless man flocks to liquor. There's nothing better than having a bunch of people in your room watching The Office or 24. Leverage: learn it, need it, love it.

    Stay Clean:

Make sure you remember to bring all of the necessary hygiene equipment. Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, soap, lotion, and taser. Why a taser? Consider this scenario. You share a bathroom with an entire hall of people. There will be a tussle for the bathroom, I guarantee it. You run to the bathroom and some idiot is taking a 25 minute shower. So you kick down the door and taser that stupid person who's taking a 25 minute shower. Because we all know from Physics (and Chemistry) class that water, because of all the ions and crap in it, conducts electricity.

    Fun Stuff:

Birds of a feather flock together, aka gofers like to sleep in the same bush. i'm bringing my lacrosse stick and tennis racket, my bottle rocket (no not kevin's, my leaky one), and my flashlights (i'm a flashlight freak). I'm also considering bringing my teddy bear but i'm afraid that some psycho in my dorm will puke on him.

    Classes and Professors:

Do you know how on all of those college tours they tell you to get to know your professors? Well, get to know your professors. Invite them to your parties. I think they'd enjoy that. Actually, I heard that professors party the hardest. Look up where they live. Google Earth is your friend, use it to its full capacity. Find out everything there is to know about your professor. Google is your friend, use it to its full capacity. Need help on a late night homework problem? Get one of your friends, who has a car, to drive you to your professor's place and residence.

What I would give for just one more year...
Gala was great even though I spent a majority of the time standing around watching the crowd. During the first hourish we watched younger versions of ourselves on the tv. Next was the dance room, there I stood around and did very minimal dancing (I don't dance). Once 12 o'clock hit, tears started falling as everyone said their good byes to their friends.

So now I'm suffering from postseniorgala stress disorder just like everybody else in the class of 2006. Which is why I'm on my friend adding rampage on face book here. On my way home, I heard a really depressing song while passing Joe on the highway which made me think.

During my high school career I did a ton of things that I am glad I did, as well as a ton of things that I wish I hadn't.

I met a bunch of people that I am happy to be able to call friends. But there are so many that I wish I had met, but was either too shy or too cowardly to meet.

In other words, if I had one chance to relive the past 4 years, I would go back and make some major changes but leave somethings the was they are. But we all know that is impossible, so I'll just have to make with what I have. I am by no means saying that I'm living a shitty life btw.

The last real day of classes was today but there are three schools days left on the calender (local exams). I only have to come in for one of the three days, but I plan to be in school on all of them just because i want to squeeze in as much time as possible with my friends as possible before late August comes.

Before i wrap this up, I have a question for everyone reading this that is in the class of 2006 (I don't care if you know me or not, I still want an answer).

Think back to the beginning of your freshman year, how did you meet your new group of friends?

As you can all see I'm kind of depressed, but we are not actually saying our goodbyes right? We might no longer be living in the same town, attending the same school, or see each other on a daily basis, but there are two beautiful things called the internet and postage stamps!!! Not to mention the college off times.

    life sucks
Weirdest thing happened today. I was driving home from school and there was this duck sitting in the middle of the road. It didn't move out of the way until I stopped about a foot away from its head. That just proves that birds aren't as smart as Mike Chow thinks they are.

So all the hard work that I put into my bottle rocket this weekend all went down the drain in a matter of seconds. The bottle is cracked, the fins are in pieces, and the nose cone fell off (thats kinda what happens when a rocket makes a crash landing head first onto the track). I think Marvin Martian said it best when he said, "Well... I Guess its back to the old drawing board."

and btw, I got a job at Target!!!

    Armageddon
Its 12 in the morning, I should be in bed, but I'm not cause I've got some last minute studying cramming to do. Everybody else seems to be on the same train of though cause 18 out of the 39 people on my buddy list are still online.

The calc exam on wednesday wasn't too bad. If I get anything less than a 4, its not because I don't know Calculus, but because I don't know logarithms. Tomorrow = Physics AP and I'm am sooooooo screwed......

    Frisbee on Friday
The ironic part is, we didn't really play too much frisbee due to the 1000000 mph winds. But the Laws were there to save the day with their soccer ball.

    Julia
: Are we playing with our shoes off?
Evan: I'm not taking mine off because... I might step on a bee.
Me thinks: *what are the chances of  that happening?*
    5 minute later
Me: AH FUCK!!! I THINK I JUST STEPPED ON A BEE!!!

    Basketball
The courts were wet so everybody was slipping/falling everywhere. Other than that nothing special happened.

oh!!! and 121 is the number of times "How To Save A Life" by The Frey has  been played on my computer... on today alone...

I don't know any calc, physics, or chem and the AP are 1-2 weeks away and I can't seem to keep my focus. For example, I am currently writing a live journal entry when I am suppose to be finishing my calc homework. But at least I finished my biggest time waster today, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.

And report cards come out this wednesday, that just adds insult to injury... (I think that is how the saying goes)

    Where is everyone?
The French people are in France, the Germans are in Germany, and everyone else is away visiting colleges. I guess its just me and these stupid AP review books during this vacation...

From after school on friday to monday morning, my family and I were camping in Delaware in this humongous camper that my parents bought late last year (it really isn't that humongous). My parents seemed to have really enjoyed fishing the entire time, especially since they caught four really big ones (a black bass and three blue fish). I on the other hand spent the entire time throwing a frisbee (I learned the Mike MacMinn throw!!!). So I guess the trip wasn't a complete waste.

My plan for this summer was to get a job at the driving range, but every time I call asking about their progress, they always replied something along the lines of:

"You should get a call tomorrow"
"You should get a called within the next few day"
"You should have gotten a call by now"

I wish the rec department would just give me a straight and honest answer like, "you didn't get the job", so I would at least know. As of now, I don't want it anymore, so if they ever do give me a call back, I'll can be as rude and obnoxious as I want. ::devilish laugh:: Besides, I was at Mohawk Commons yesterday and noticed that a whole bunch of places were hiring.

EDIT: I really should proofread my entries.

    feet hurt...
Made this a few days ago:

EDIT: As finished as it is going to get

Today was just dandy (like Landy?). Went to Subway for the first time in my life for lunch with Tommy, Joe, and Chris. Then Tommy picked up some scratch tickets at Stewarts; he won $30. Joe got one as well but he didn't win anything :P.

Next during my Earth Science drop, we went out to the front of the school to play some Frisbee instead of working on that ES project that is due at the end of next week (We were supposed to have starred it about five months ago).

Finally, it was bare-footed ultimate Frisbee/soccer at blatnick park with a bunch of kiddies. It was a lot of fun, if we forget the fact that everyone was accidentally killing each other. When I got home I took a close look at my feet and notice that I had a whole bunch of popped blisters and splinters... (not fun).

I wanted to go to the MCS night but my parents wouldn't have been too happy about it.

As for tomorrow, I'm spending the whole day in NYC paying my respects in the cemetary, eating, window shopping, and getting a hair cut =(

I think its about time for a new avatar, any suggestions?
